The Water Environment Association of Ontario (WEAO) and the Ontario Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change are pleased to once again partner on the 9th annual WEAO Student Design Competitions (SDC). The groups have joined forces because of a mutual interest in sustainable infrastructure, with this year’s theme being stormwater management and low impact development. The SDCs are intended to promote “real world” design experience for students interested in pursuing a career in water and wastewater engineering and sciences. The project is designed to have the complexity level of a senior design or capstone project and with begin and end dates corresponding to the academic year, many professors are finding it an appropriate and intriguing final year project for their students. This year’s competition is to be hosted in the City of Toronto and will launch in early July, 2016. Professors and students are encouraged to keep an eye out for the launch, and can learn more at http://www.weao.org/student-design-competition.
