Access to OWC Events
- OWC and OCWA convened a one-day initial workshop to raise awareness and discuss potential opportunities.
- The event attracted more than 60 people: technology providers, consulting engineers, academics, provincial government representatives and municipal end users from across the province.

Research Showcase
- Waterloo Institute for Nanotechnology and the Water Institute at the University of Waterloo have teamed up with the OWC to organize “Nanotechnology Innovation in the Water Sector”
- The 90-minute event showcased seven researchers from the University of Waterloo who are pioneering everything from nano-cellulose systems that treat wastewater to DNA biosensors that can detect contaminants
“I think this is a great opportunity to have interdisciplinary research centres working with end users and community partners and industry to create a sustainable impact,” says Dr. Mitra. “We haven’t seen that kind of a synergy happening previously.”

- Action Groups are formed to demonstrate showcase solutions, address real challenges and gaps in the water ecosystem, and ultimately contribute to positioning Ontario as a globally leading jurisdiction in water innovation
